Well… you can’t blame a guy for trying.
I took two longish bike rides today, and the Fall colors were just beautiful. It made me think, though, that sadly the experience of this beauty is not an experience that can be easily shared with someone not also present. For one, the trees tower over me (already difficult to photograph), and also surround me – part of the majesty is that the beauty is everywhere at once. And then the experience is not purely visual either – it smells like Fall, there is a warm breeze, you can hear the geese honking and splashing the water. Maybe if I was a poet I could share all this to my satisfaction. As it is, I wait for the holodeck or Vulcan mind meld.
But, a few more photos from today are on Flickr, if you’re interested.
“You are the LORD, you alone. You have made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them; and you preserve all of them; and the host of heaven worships you.” ~Nehemiah 9:6
